As the press of the entire world, the well-known scientific journals Science and Nature summarise the most prominent moments at the end of the year. This year, a study by researchers from the United States and Estonia solved the mystery of Prince Rupert's drops, which was considered as the greatest mystery of the 17th century.
These are pieces of glass obtained by dropping the molten glass into cold water. The long tail beads thus created are so strong in their head that they do not burst even with a gun shot. However, if you squeeze the tip of the tail even gently, the whole thing breaks explosively.
